Beast of Reincarnation can feel slow and slightly overwhelming at first. The combat took time to grow on me, and some mechanics seemed more complicated than necessary. Once everything clicked, however, I found it difficult to stop playing.
Here are seven things that would have made my first few hours easier.
1. Check Your Language Settings
Before starting, check the audio and subtitle options. I initially played with non-English audio, which made the already complex story harder to follow. Choosing your preferred language setup can make the opening chapters more enjoyable.
2. Give the Story Time
The beginning moves slowly and introduces several unfamiliar ideas. Instead of trying to understand everything immediately, focus on Emma, Koo, and their connection to the Blight. The larger storyline becomes much more compelling once those pieces come together.
3. Learn to Parry Early
Parrying is one of the most important combat skills. Successful parries weaken enemies and generate the points needed to activate Koo’s abilities. Practice against weaker enemies before facing more demanding bosses.
4. Use Koo’s Abilities Regularly
Koo is an essential part of the combat system, not just a companion. His command-based abilities can interrupt enemies, create openings, and make difficult encounters more manageable. Avoid saving his abilities for the “perfect” moment.
5. Do Not Master Everything Immediately
The game introduces several mechanics, and some may initially feel superfluous. Concentrate on attacking, parrying, dodging, and using Koo before worrying about every upgrade or secondary system.
6. Explore Beyond the Main Route
Emma’s plant-like hair allows her to cross gaps and reach elevated areas. Exploring can uncover weapons, upgrade materials, optional enemies, and other useful resources that make later battles easier.

The combat system did not immediately click for me. It became far more satisfying once I understood how Emma’s attacks, parries, and Koo’s abilities worked together. Give yourself time to adjust before deciding whether the gameplay is for you.
